OBP Certification
OBP stands for Ocean Bound Plastic,
a certification that verifies the process of managing and recycling plastic waste entering the ocean.
This certification aims to proactively collect plastic waste before it reaches the sea, use of sustainable post-consumer recycled goods.

**The OBP certification was jointly developed by Control Union, a Netherlands-based organization, and the non-profit Zero Plastic Oceans. This certification is traceability-based, verifying every step of the supply chain process from the collection of OBP to the final product production.

GRS_ Global Recycled Standard
The GRS is an international, voluntary, full product standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions. Control Union Certifications BV is accredited by SLAB for this scheme under registration nr. CP 004-01. CU Inspections & Certifications India Pvt Ltd is accredited by IOAS for the scope of product certification. Contract Number: 81
The objectives of the GRS are to define requirements to ensure accurate content claims and good working conditions, and that harmful environmental and chemical impacts are minimised. This includes companies in ginning, spinning, weaving and knitting, dyeing and printing and stitching in more than 50 countries.

**The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) was originally developed by Control Union Certifications in 2008 and ownership was passed to the Textile Exchange on 1 January 2011. The GRS is intended to meet the needs of companies looking to verify the recycled content of their products (both finished and intermediate) and to verify responsible social, environmental and chemical practices in their production.

The Higg Index began in 2009 when Patagonia and Walmart joined forces to establish the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) to reduce unnecessary environmental impacts in the apparel, footwear, and textile industries and to have a positive impact on local communities and various stakeholders.
