Re-cycled Nylon
(Pre-consumer)
Conventional nylon is made from petroleum-based materials, resulting in significant energy consumption and the release of substantial amounts of greenhouse gases during the manufacturing process.
However,
Recycled nylon involves cutting discarded fishing nets or fabrics into smaller pieces, removing impurities through multiple steps, and then weaving them back into fabric. This process can reduce dependence on petroleum and contribute to a decrease in greenhouse gas emissions.
Re-cycled Polyester
(Preconsumer)
Recycled polyester can be categorized into post-consumer and pre-consumer.
•Post-consumer refers to recycled fabric created by collecting items discarded by consumers after use,
•Pre-consumer involves recycling materials discarded before consumer use to produce recycled fabrics.
Pre-consumer, in particular, involves collecting leftover fabric scraps and excess threads generated during the garment manufacturing process. These discarded materials are gathered, processed through a sustainable method, and woven into new fabrics. This process can reduce energy consumption by 20% and decrease gas emissions by 2%.

Polyester was developed in the early 1940s in the UK and was first introduced to the public by DuPont in 1951 as polyester fabric. Since then, it has been widely used. However, the manufacturing process of polyester involves resource wastage and the generation of significant toxins, and its non-biodegradable nature contributes to environmental pollution, making it a major environmental concern.

Recycled polyester, especially post-consumer, involves collecting discarded plastics and items disposed of by consumers after use. After undergoing a sustainable process, these materials are woven into fabric. This eco-friendly fabric manufacturing process not only reduces dependence on virgin materials but also helps decrease the amount of waste ending up in landfills or the ocean.
